CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH COVID Guidelines

Updated 01/17/2023

Christ the King Lutheran Church continues to follow the guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control and the NC Governor’s office. We’ve also consulted with Dr. Larry Wu, our resident subject expert, and hereby update our guidelines as follows, effective January 17, 2023, and until further notice:

  1. We strongly recommend that you be fully vaccinated (and have received a booster shot, if eligible) in order to attend in-person worship services, meetings, and events with the exception of children under 5 and those who may be medically unable to be vaccinated.

  2. In accordance with CDC guidelines and based on Wake County now being in the “medium transmission risk” category, the wearing of masks is now once again strongly recommended when gathering in large groups. Worship leaders such as preachers, musicians and singers will be masked when interacting with worshippers. Unvaccinated persons must be masked at all times.

  3. The CDC no longer requires distancing of 6 feet from others.

  4. Food service inside the building is now allowed for groups of up to 80 people in the Atrium or Nagle Hall, or for smaller groups of up to 24 in other meeting spaces. The coffee bar is now open.

  5. Stay home if you have any COVID-like symptoms and participate in worship via livestream at ctkcary.com/live.

  6. To see the current status of infections in Wake County and the corresponding recommendations of the CDC, go to: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html , scroll down and enter state and county to see the latest classification.
