Abundant life

Christ the King Lutheran Church 2024 Stewardship Appeal

I CAME THAT THEY MAY HAVE LIFE AND HAVE IT ABUNDANTLY.

JOHN 10:10B

Online Statement of Intent

Enhance the Facility
($1,038/week)

Phase II of our solar panel project will involve refinishing the roof above the Sanctuary. Second, deferred maintenance over the last three years has caught up to us including a new HVAC. Third, when both worship spaces were renovated in 2018 there were several items left off the list for budget purposes. Now only one item remains: to add stage lighting in Nagle Hall. This lighting will improve the Contemporary experience as well as enhance the livestream video quality.

Spread the Gospel
($748/week)

At CTK we spread the gospel starting with excellent worship, whether onsite or online. In the sanctuary the time has come to retire the 40-year-old choir robes and replace them with a fresh new set along with upgraded musical instruments. Outside our walls we want to explore an Anchor Church partnership and continue our benevolence to Synodical ministries. We hope to continue our partnership with Duke Divinity School and raising up seminarians for the future.

Sustain Ministry Excellence
($337/week)

We know that our new senior pastor will be excited to work with our talented and dedicated staff. In the last year alone we have restructured several staff positions to gain efficiency and save money. Now we plan to raise salaries by 7% to retain our quality staff. We want to make sure that all staff make a minimum livable wage, defined by MIT as $18.51/hr. in Wake County. These costs are netted against savings in other areas to reduce the overall budget increase.

Invitation and Response

We invite you to pray for Christ the King and its people. While the church remains strong, the needs in our community are high. Many people are looking for a safe and mission-driven church which means we need to continue to spread the gospel with high ethical standards and a passion for the work of Jesus. In addition to beginning with a new senior pastor, 2024 is the 60th anniversary of our beloved congregation. Let us pray that we continue to answer God’s call to the abundant life.

Sunday, November 5th is Commitment Sunday with special guest, Bishop Brenda Bos of the Southwest California Synod. During worship, you will be invited to bring forward your enclosed Commitment Card, offering your gifts to God. You may also mail your commitment card to the church office or fill out an online commitment card.

On December 3rd we will announce the current results of our commitments, including the number of Commitment Cards received and the faithful response of the congregation. We will celebrate the results together. We
invite you to celebrate with us. We are excited about the opportunities to meet the needs of the church and community in coming year. Thanks to the generosity of the people like you, CTK is on the move. Now let’s continue to learn, live, and tell the story of God’s grace!
